In the axle box opening of the side frame there is a wear-resistant element, an adapter and a bearing of the axle box assembly. The adapter contains a support surface and thrust walls. From the side of the thrust walls, the flat supporting surface of the adapter is limited by the shoulders. The length of the collars is at least half the length of the sides of the supporting surface of the adapter. The height of the shoulders is at least half the thickness of the base. Protrusions are made on the end sides of the adapter. The protrusions are cast integrally with the shoulders and are their continuation. Each protrusion in the end direction is made with the possibility of not overlapping the end side of the supporting surface of the adapter and is located with the possibility of freely installing the wear-resistant element. The wear-resistant element is engaged from the end sides of the bearing surface and the adapter.
