SUBSTANCE: invention relates to freight car bogie wheel pair and axle box housing. Proposed bogie comprises axle, wheels fitted thereon and axle box assemblies including axle box housing made up of steel casting. Said housing has stepped cylindrical bore at its centre to accommodate wheel pair bearing assembly. Housing has bosses with support surfaces for installation of side frame, combined with each other by means of longitudinal stiffening ribs. Housing has thrust limiters of longitudinal and transverse movements of side frame axle box opening. Housing has eye lugs with threaded holes intended for attachment of attachment and inspection covers. Each pair of longitudinal and transverse limiters has a common base in form of a platform moulded on the outer surface of the cylindrical wall of the axle box housing. Lower plane of limiters is located not lower than centre of mounting diameter for installation of bearing assembly of wheel pair. Limiters are arranged with height from 60 to 80 mm. Conjugation radius of the inner wall surface of the transverse limiter with the base is in range of 11 to 13 mm.
