AMPOULE IRRADIATION DEVICE FOR REACTOR RESEARCH Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G21C17/06

Abstract RU 2781552 C1

FIELD: ampoule irradiation devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an ampoule irradiation device that can be used for reactor studies of the properties of fuel elements, namely, microspherical encapsulated nuclear fuel (micro-fuels) for high-temperature gas-cooled reactors. Device for reactor studies includes at least one hermetic ampoule, equipped with gas pipelines for its flow ventilation, with graphite inserts installed in it with a gap and closed end caps. To place the test samples in graphite liners, a lot of regularly spaced vertical channels are made, the diameter of which is comparable to the diameter of the samples (micro-pipes). The graphite liners have a central axial channel, in which at least one of the temperature sensors is installed in a tight fit, and at least one of the temperature sensors is installed in one of the end caps of the graphite liners. In this case, the gas lines are connected to the upper and lower covers of the ampoule.

EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of studying the release of gaseous fission products from a large batch of microfuel while simultaneously ensuring the temperature of the test samples with a given accuracy.
