FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of optics and pertains to a visual system for landing aircraft on unequipped airfields in difficult meteorological conditions. System comprises a navigation system, an altitude meter, and a visual landing system. The visual landing system includes an emitting unit located on the airfield and, aircraft-based, a receiving unit including a guidance channel and a measuring channel, and a computing unit. The emitting unit is made in the form of two searchlights located at the edges of the runway and emitting modulated visible light. The guidance channel is made in the form of a digital photographic camera focusing the emission of the searchlights as two dots on the matrix, visualised on the screen of the camera, whereon a crosshair-like sight is drawn. The measuring channel comprises a selective amplifier and an apparatus for measuring the distance to the runway.
EFFECT: simplification of the visual landing system.
