SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering, and in particular to methods and devices for fastening the ends of steel cables during strength tests or in operation, in particular when testing elements of aircraft The end of the steel cable is placed in a sleeve with an inner surface in the form of a truncated cone, where the diameter of the smaller base is equal to the diameter of the cable, and the diameter of the large base is equal to or greater than two cable diameters, and the cylinder, which has a thread and a diameter equal to the diameter of the large base of the truncated cone, for a length not less than the length of the truncated cone. The end of the cable is untwisted into threads for a length of more than half the height of the truncated cone. Fluff the untwisted area evenly around the circumference and remove the woven core in the untwisted area. The threads are pressed against the cable body and the untwisted section of the cable is moved into the sleeve body until the cylindrical part of the sleeve passes. Further, a conical wedge is hammered or pressed into the center of the pressed end of the cable. After that, a locking element is screwed into the cylindrical part of the bushing, and then lugs are welded to the bushing for connection with the load object.

EFFECT: increased reliability of connection with the object of loading during static testing of aircraft elements, simplification of the production of termination of the end of the steel cable.
