SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, in particular to methods for seeding ground-covering crops in intermediate seeding. In the method, in crop rotation in a period free of cultivation of main crops, intermediate seeding is performed in the soil untreated after harvesting the main crop, using a direct sowing seeder, to a seeding depth of 3-5 cm. In this case, a mixture of selected ground-covering crops is seeded: 3 crops of 3 main families – gramineous, leguminous, and cruciferous families + 3 crops of other families performing agronomical valuable functions for the formation of soil fertility. A seeding rate is calculated according to the expression: NT=A₁+A₂+A₃+A₄+…+A₁₂, where A₁=L₁/K, L₁=O₁/4, NT is a rate of seeding the mixture of ground-covering crops, which is equal to the sum (A₁+A₂+A₃+A₄+…+A₁₂) of all weight values of calculated rates of seeding crops being part of this mixture; A₁ is a seeding rate for each crop in the mixture, kg/ga: A₁=L₁/K, where coefficient K is equal to a number of crops in this mixture, kg/ga; L₁ is a seeding rate of each crop of the mixture, necessary in seeding in intermediate seeding, kg/ga; it is calculated as 25% of a usual rate; O₁ is a usual seeding rate of each crop of the mixture, recommended in this region, when seeding in optimal terms, kg/ga; after vegetation, mixtures remain on the surface of a field without planting until seeding the next crop.

EFFECT: method allows for improvement of yield by seeding in the soil untreated after harvesting the main crop, using a direct sowing seeder, special selection of crops for intermediate seeding a ground-covering mixture, individual calculation of a seeding rate of each crop of this mixture.
