FIELD: paint and coatings industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for coloring water-dispersion paints. The method for producing color paste includes loading the paste components into a chemical reactor equipped with an electromechanical stirrer, mixing them with a polymer base and subsequent dispersion. Then the composition is homogenized in a bead mill to obtain an ultrafine paste. Inside the housing 1 of the bead mill, a photo and video survey unit 4 is installed, connected to the information input 5 of the mill control unit equipped with an indication module 6 and made on the basis of a microcontroller 7. During the homogenization of the composition, using the photo and video survey unit 4, the color of the mixed composition is controlled by performing its macro photography and transmitting the resulting image to the control unit. Based on the control program, the dimensionality of the resulting image is reduced and it is compared with a pre-prepared reference image of the color paste. The comparison is carried out by calculating the RMS difference for each pair of images, the first of which is an image of reduced dimension, and the second is a reference image. When the threshold value of the RMS difference of 5% is reached, the paste is considered homogeneous and the homogenization process is stopped.
