SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video encoding tools. A first flag indicating that the conformity window is present in the current image is retrieved. A second flag is retrieved based on the first flag, indicating whether the conformity window is being used to resample the reference image. Based on the second flag indicating that the conformity window is used to resample the reference image, the resampling coefficient is determined between the current image and the reference image based on the size of the conformity window. Based on the second flag indicating that the conformity window is not used to resample the reference image, the resampling coefficient is determined based on the size of the resampled image. The reference image is resampled for the current image using the resampling coefficient. The first flag contains the conformity window flag, wherein the values conf_win_left_offset, conf_win_right_offset, conf_win_top_offset, and conf_win_bottom_offset are taken as 0 when the conformity window flag equals 0.
EFFECT: determined actual output size of the decoded image when the crop window offset parameters are absent.
