METHOD FOR ACCELERATION OF SPACE VEHICLE IN INTERSTELLAR SPACE WHEN FLIGHT TO NEAREST STAR SYSTEMS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC B64G1/10 B64G1/22

Abstract RU 2782278 C1

FIELD: space technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to space technology and can be used to study the interstellar medium and deliver a spacecraft to the nearest star systems. The invention is a method for accelerating a spacecraft with a light sail and separable modules with photodissociation quantum generators. The spacecraft is launched into near-Earth orbit, accelerated to the third space velocity along the trajectory to the selected star system. After the spacecraft leaves the solar heliosphere, the spacecraft is separated from the upper stage (US) and the light sail is deployed. Next, the modules with photodissociation quantum generators are sequentially separated in the direction of the spacecraft velocity vector until the stock of separable modules with generators on board the US is used up. The charge of photodissociation quantum generators is sequentially ignited. Electromagnetic energy of high density laser radiation is generated. The surface of the light sail of the spacecraft is irradiated. As a result, the thrust created as a result of the impact of powerful photon radiation on the light sail gives the spacecraft acceleration.

EFFECT: invention provides the possibility to study the interstellar medium, nearest stars and stellar systems is achieved.
