FIELD: ceramics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for mechanical processing of porous ceramics and can be used in mechanical engineering, chemical industry, power engineering for the production and processing of machine parts, filter materials and catalyst carriers. The method includes preparing a suspension from ceramic powder, pouring into a mold, gelling, drying, soaking in water, and flexible deformation of the obtained workpieces. In the process of creating porous ceramic products, water-soluble polymeric additives are used that are responsible for the gelation process; the blanks are dried at temperatures from -6 to 50°C. The process of "drying-impregnation with water" can be carried out repeatedly. Flexible workpieces are processed using the simplest cutting tool or turning equipment. After processing, the workpieces are sintered, while the shape of the flexible workpiece is retained.
EFFECT: use of elastic flexibility for mechanical processing of porous blanks of ceramic products.
