FIELD: ionizing radiation measuring.

SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to the technique for measuring ionizing radiation. The method for verification of neutron spectrometers-dosimeters and the device that implements it allow verification of neutron spectrometers-dosimeters in reference neutron fields with different shapes of their energy spectra. Reference neutron fields with different shapes of energy spectra can be obtained from one radioisotope neutron source by placing the neutron source in a collimating system made of a hydrogen-containing material, into the channel of which neutron moderator disks of various thicknesses are also inserted in turn, also made of a hydrogen-containing material. The spectra of obtained reference neutron fields are calculated using simulation software packages used in nuclear physics and in the design of various nuclear physics facilities. To verify spectrometers-dosimeters at different flux density measurement limits, a pre-calculated database of reference neutron flux spectra is used for various specified distances between the neutron source and the detection point.

EFFECT: verification of a neutron spectrometer-dosimeter with reliably determined energy spectra generated by the device from one primary neutron source.
