FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device is a two-layer envelope in a nuclear reactor core, which includes fissile material (1) and a neutron reflector (2). The first layer of the envelope is made of hydrogen-containing material (3), having a thickness which enables to slow down neutrons to energies which are typical for a standard nuclear explosion. The second layer of the envelope is on the outer side of the hydrogen-containing material and is made of material with a large thermal neutron capture cross-section, having a thickness (4) which enables to obtain a neutron and gamma-radiation dose ratio which is typical for a standard nuclear explosion. The device also includes a radiation detector (5).
EFFECT: testing electronic equipment on simulators in accordance with state standard requirements using radiation parameters typical for a standard nuclear explosion.
