FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to X-ray diagnostics, obstetrics, gynecology, manual therapy, osteopathy, sports medicine, orthopedics, and can be used to quantify the degree of pelvic torsion. Method involves constructing on the patient's postural radiographs in the anterior-posterior projection of the base line of the sacrum and the vertical passing through its middle, with the subsequent construction of the upper horizontal tangents to the uppermost points of the wings of the iliac bones of the left and right half of the pelvis, as well as the lower horizontal tangents to the lower points of the ischial bones of the left and right halves of the pelvis and vertical tangents to the most laterally protruding points of the wings of the ilium of the right and left halves of the pelvis, until they intersect with the upper and lower horizontal tangents. The areas of the rectangles obtained on each side of the pelvis are measured. According to the ratio of the areas of the larger rectangle to the smaller one, the pelvic torsion coefficient (PTC) is determined. In the absence of pelvic torsion, the PTC is equal to 1.0, while the greater the PTC, the greater the degree of torsion.
EFFECT: method provides an increase in the validity and accuracy of assessing the degree of pelvic torsion due to the additional consideration of deviations of the pelvic segments in the horizontal plane by obtaining the final PTC.
