FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: assessing actual angular relations of hip implant components to bone structures and to each other requires describing tomograms of the sphere centre of the hip implant head, a neck of the hip implant, a distal portion of the femur within the epicondyles and the sacral spine at the level of S1 vertebra by overlapping with a static contour line of a tomographic table used as a guide on the tomograms. Axes of the necks of the implant and the proximal portion of the femoral component and a supracondylar line are drawn on the matched tomograms of the sphere centre of the hip implant head, the neck of the hip implant and the distal portion of the femur within the epicondyles. A declination angle of the femoral component is measured between the supracondylar line and the axis of the neck of the hip implant, while a torsion angle of the proximal portion of the femoral component of the hip implant is measured between the supracondylar line and the axis of the proximal portion of the femoral component of the hip implant. An inclination angle of the pelvic component is measured between the axis of the sacral bone on the matched tomograms of the sacral spine at the level of S1 vertebra and the centre of the hip implant head. The axis of the sacral bone is drawn through apexes of the anterior surface of both sacroiliac joints, while the axis of the pelvic component - through anterior and posterior edges of the pelvic component.
EFFECT: method enables establishing the reasons for dislocation and wear of the hip implant components, disturbed extremity biomechanics related to a spatial position of these components and their relations to each other and to the bone structures in a horizontal plane.
