FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to biomechanics, sports medicine and orthopedics. "Short" leg side is diagnosed by the side of reduction of height of iliac bone crest standing in their palpation from two sides by II metacarpophalangeal joints when patient is standing on horizontal surface in position "feet together". After that, value of asymmetries of length of lower extremities is determined by total thickness of measuring plates, successively put under the shorter leg until "phenomenon of advancing" of posterior superior iliac spine disappears when patient repeats flexion tests from "feet apart" position. Other aspect of invention is device for method realisation. Device contains platform with built in it level meter and set of measuring plates. On support surface of platform applied are contour lines of marking in position "feet together" and position "feet apart", in such a way that distance between heels in position "feet apart" constitutes 10-12 cm, and tangents to medial edges of feet form with axial line angles, equal 10-12°.

EFFECT: method and device increase accuracy and repeatability of measurements in determination of asymmetry values, as regards method.
