FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the production of a solid precatalyst component for use in olefin polymerization, a solid precatalyst component, a method for polymerization or copolymerization of olefin, and to polyethylene. The method for the production of a solid component includes: dissolution of anhydrous magnesium chloride, hydrocarbon, siloxane, and aluminum alkoxide in alcohol to form a complex of magnesium chloride with this alcohol; addition of water to form the first solution, the water content in which is from about 0.5 mmol of water per mol of MgCl2 to about 100 mmol of water per mol of MgCl2; bringing into contact of the first solution with the first titanium compound to form the solid precatalyst component, where the first titanium compound is titanium halogenide, titanium alkoxide, or titanium alkoxychloride; and processing of the solid precatalyst component with a hydrocarbon or halogenated hydrocarbon solvent containing the second titanium compound, where the second titanium compound is titanium halogenide.

EFFECT: inclusion of water to a process of catalyst production acts as a promotor for Ziegler-Natt catalyst based on MgCl2, improving catalytic activity and catalyst morphology, as well as improving morphology of the resulting polymer.
