METHOD FOR PREDICTING THE FORMATION OF DE NOVO ANEURYSMS IN CEREBRAL ARTERIOVENOUS MALFORMATIONS IN PATIENTS WITH ANEURYSMS ASSOCIATED WITH ARTERIOVENOUS MALFORMATIONS DURING MULTI-STAGE ENDOVASCULAR EMBOLIZATION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G01N33/53

Abstract RU 2783901 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurosurgery. To do this, the level of matrix metalloproteinase 9 - MMP9 is determined in the patient's blood serum before and one day after the operation of endovascular embolization. With an increased level of MMP9 before the operation of endovascular embolization relative to the normal value, an increase in the level of MMP9 after the operation of endovascular embolization, as well as a continuing increase in the level of MMP9 before the next stage of endovascular embolization, a high risk of de novo aneurysm formation is predicted. At the same time, before the next stage of endovascular embolization, microangiographic mapping of all AVM afferents is performed to detect de novo aneurysms.

EFFECT: method allows to timely predict the risk of formation of AVM-associated aneurysms de novo, perform microangiographic mapping of the AVM according to indications, identify de novo aneurysms in its structure, perform embolization of the AVM compartment containing aneurysms, thereby preventing hemorrhage.
