METHOD FOR SURGICAL THERAPY OF CEREBRAL ARTERIORVENOUS MALFORMATIONS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2240831 C1

FIELD: medicine, vascular neurosurgery.

SUBSTANCE: one should perform cerebral angiography, computer and/or magnetic-resonance cerebral tomography, carry out intraoperational malformation embolization due to introducing an adhesive composition followed by its removal. Moreover, one should pre-calculate the volume of malformation node and optimal quantity of adhesive composition necessary for its embolization. One should detect the time for polymerization of adhesive composition and rate of its intravascular injection. For AVM embolization and its simultaneous staining one should apply a contrast adhesive composition, and AVM removal should be performed along the border near unstained cerebral tissue. Contrast adhesive composition should be prepared ex temporo by applying the solution of medicinal glue "Sulfacrylate" at addition of powder-like brilliant green and dry crystalline iodine to obtain a dark-green staining.

EFFECT: decreased level of traumatism.
