SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil industry, in particular to equipment for extracting broken rods from a tubing string located in a well. The sucker rod catcher on a rope includes a hollow body with a cylindrical recess on the inner surface and a reverse funnel from below, rams pressed inward by a spring and located in the sample of the hollow body, equipped with inclined sections on the inner surface from below, from above, a load is connected to the hollow body by means of a coupling, made in the form a hollow column of pipes, and a cable head connected to a rope is screwed onto the load. The hollow body consists of lower, middle and upper sections rigidly connected to each other. The lower section is equipped with a return funnel. Each section of the hollow body is equipped with an internal cylindrical recess. Dies with inclined sections, consisting of three biscuits, are installed in the inner cylindrical recesses of the hollow body sections. Outside, each die with an inclined section is equipped with a spring split ring that presses the crackers of the dies inward. The compression force of the spring split rings, compressing the inside of the dies in each section of the hollow body, decreases from top to bottom. Through diameters d1; d2; d3 dies installed in each section of the hollow body are reduced from bottom to top. The weight of the load is greater than the maximum expansion force of the spring split ring.

EFFECT: improving the reliability of the catcher, developing a universal design of the catcher for the standard size of a broken string of sucker rods with a diameter of 19 to 25 mm located in the well, as well as expanding the functionality of the catcher and eliminating the cost of servicing the catcher before lowering it into the well.
