FIELD: electroplating.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electroplating; it can be used in electrochemical energy storage devices including high-power and high-energy lithium-ion batteries. The method includes (a) immersion of a working electrode into a non-aqueous electrolyte containing a lithium source and a transition metal source, wherein the mentioned sources of both lithium and transition metal are characterized by a purity degree in the range from 50 to 95 wt. %; (b) electrical deposition of lithiated transition metal oxide (hereinafter – LTMO) on a surface of the working electrode from the electrolyte, at a temperature exceeding a melting point of the non-aqueous electrolyte; (c) removal of the working electrode from a bath, and (d) flushing of electrically deposited LTMO.
EFFECT: new method for synthesis of LTMO materials with reduced production costs is developed.
