FIELD: electric power plants.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric power plants for water transport. The method to improve the efficiency of the ship's power plant is that the power of the ship's power plant is regulated by changing the number of electromechanical power sources connected to the busbars. In this case, a chemical current source with its control subsystem in the form of a semiconductor converter is additionally used. At the same time, the power of the ship's power plant is regulated by changing the electric power taken from this chemical source by means of its semiconductor converter in such a way that the diesel generator connected to the same busbars operates with a constant power and a nominal load factor. The load levels of a diesel generator are determined by using the readings of its exhaust gas temperature sensors. The level of discharge of a chemical current source is determined by measuring its voltage and/or capacitance. In case of a shortage or excess of power sources operating on the busbars, a diesel generator is additionally connected to or disconnected from them.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of the ship power plant.
