SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of blasting in mining and can be used in the explosive breaking of rocks with borehole charges of explosives in quarries when sloping the sides of quarries under conditions of restrictions on the seismic action of blast waves. The method for conducting blasting operations provides for placing a system of loosening charges and a system of linearly arranged in a row adjacent charges of contour blasting on the exploding near-contour block with instantaneous initiation of the latter and subsequent initiation of the system of loosening charges. In addition to the system of contiguous contour blasting charges arranged in a row, an additional row of contiguous contour blasting charges is placed in parallel to it from the side of loosening charges in a checkerboard pattern, simultaneously initiating both rows of contour blasting charges. The mass of each contour blasting charge in the additional row exceeds the mass of each charge of the system of contour blasting charges. The charges in the row of contour blasting are made in the form of garlands of cartridges, and the charges in the additional row are solid or with air gaps. The distance between rows of contour blasting charges exceeds the distance between charges in each row.

EFFECT: increasing the seismic protection of the sides of the quarry and protected objects during blasting in the periphery zones of quarries that develop strong and very strong rocks with minimal fissure voidness.
