FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to the smelting of steel in an oxygen converter. The metal filling is formed with the following content of its components, from the total amount of the metal filling: liquid iron 0.75–0.95; solid charge 0.05–0.25, while the solid charge consists of components, from the amount of solid charge: hard iron - not less than 0.7 and, if necessary, scrap and iron-containing waste from metallurgical production - not more than 0.3. Blowing steel with oxygen is carried out at a flow rate of up to 1300 m3/min, in the course of blowing, iron-containing solid oxidizers are added in an amount of up to 20 tons per melt, slag-forming materials in an amount of up to 50 tons per melt, and bottom blowing of steel with neutral gas is carried out with a total flow rate of 700–3500 Nl/min steel.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the yield of liquid steel by 1.0-1.5% and reduce the cost of steel production due to the use of cast iron in the metal charge.
