FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to the smelting of steel in a converter with combined blowing. From the beginning of blowing the melt with oxygen through the basal tuyeres, nitrogen is supplied with a flow rate of 300-1500 nl/min for each basal tuyere, and after oxygen is consumed in an amount of 30-85% of the planned amount for melting, argon is supplied through the basal tuyeres with a flow rate of 600-4000 nl/min for each basal tuyere, and during the release of steel, argon is supplied through the basal tuyeres with a flow rate of 300-800 nl/min for each basal tuyere.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to develop a technology for combined purging of steel in a converter to obtain the necessary requirements for the metal in terms of chemical composition without additional increase in the cost of metalworking.
