FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to the technology of steelmaking in a converter at a high proportion of liquid iron. Before the start of the converter blowdown, liquid iron is poured in an amount of 70-90% by weight of the metal charge, solid iron-containing coolants and slag-forming materials are added, each in an amount of up to 70% of the mass used for melting, the cast iron remaining for melting is poured, solid iron-containing coolers are added and slag-forming materials, each in an amount of up to 40% of the mass used for melting, after which the BOF bath is purged with oxygen, during which, if necessary, the remaining amount of solid iron-containing coolants and slag-forming materials is added, while during the entire time of BOF purging oxygen baths maintain its intensity in the range of 800-1300 m3/min, and also carry out bottom blowing of the converter bath with neutral gas with an intensity of 700-3500 nl/min.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to smelt steel in a large-capacity converter of 350-400 tons, to reduce the consumption coefficient of metal charging and the cost of steel production.
