FIELD: nuclear science.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for determination of activity of radionuclides of transuranic elements of technogenic origin in different types of samples. A method for determination of activity of plutonium (Pu) radionuclides in aerosol samples and precipitations consists in simultaneous determination of activity of transuranic elements based on an ion-exchange method for their isolation from samples of filtering material with subsequent determination of activity on a liquid-scintillation beta-, alpha-radiometer of TRI-CARB type.

EFFECT: decryption of spectrometric information, using software tools, provides a possibility of correct determination of chemical yield of radionuclides during radio-chemical sampling, as well as for control of the quality of their separation; method allows for an increase in the sensitivity of the method due to a selective method for isolation of radionuclides and 100% efficiency by alpha-radiating nuclides of Pu (33% efficiency by beta-radiating nuclides of Pu), while a measurement error rate is reduced, and time for analysis is reduced.
