A method for evacuating an emergency vehicle by lifting it with a lifting boom of a tow truck, partial loading onto a tow truck and subsequent transportation. Before lifting the emergency vehicle, the base of the lifting boom is supported on the surface of the earth. After lifting, partial loading of the emergency vehicle is carried out on the back of the tow truck. The lifting boom is rotated and fixed on the tow truck to the transport position forward along the hitch. Then it is transported. The tow truck contains a cargo chassis, a frame and a lifting boom. The boom has a base and retractable sections and is placed on the frame with the possibility of rotation around its vertical axis. The base of the boom is provided with a pivotally connected stand for resting on the ground in the working position.

EFFECT: increased carrying capacity and stability of evacuation equipment when operating at a long reach, as well as an increase in the weight range of the evacuated emergency vehicle during transportation.
