FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering, in particular to the bearing assemblies of propeller shaft supports of ship shafting. A hydrodynamic plain bearing is arranged in the annular gap between the shell and the propeller shaft. The housing of the bearing assembly is made of a non-magnetic material, and in its upper part, at one of the ends in the annular gap between the shell and the propeller shaft, a passive magnetic bearing is additionally arranged. The propeller shaft is made of a material with high magnetic permeability and is additionally provided with an anti-corrosion coating of a non-magnetic material. The outer surfaces facing the propeller shaft, formed by the segments of the hydrodynamic plain bearing, as well as the poles and magnets of the passive magnetic bearing, are made with the formation of corresponding and interconnected working annular gaps with the surface of the anti-corrosion coating of the propeller shaft.
EFFECT: increase in the bearing capacity is achieved.
