FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering and is intended to improve the reliability of propeller shaft bearings of ship shafting. The bearing assembly of propeller shaft supports of ship shaftings contains a housing in the form of a shell, through the cavity of which a propeller shaft is passed coaxially and with the possibility of rotation, and a hydrodynamic sliding bearing is organized in the annular gap between the shell and the propeller shaft. The housing of the bearing assembly is made of a non-magnetic material, and in its upper part in the annular gap between the shell and the segments of the hydrodynamic plain bearing of smaller thickness, a passive magnetic bearing is additionally arranged in the form of a row symmetrical with respect to the central longitudinal axis of the housing, consisting of alternating with each other and having the same angular pole length. The poles of the passive magnetic bearing are rigidly fixed on the inner surface of the body with their side surfaces in contact with the side surfaces of adjacent permanent magnets. The propeller shaft is made of a material with high magnetic permeability and is additionally provided with an anti-corrosion coating of a non-magnetic material. The outer surface is formed by segments of the hydrodynamic plain bearing and faces the propeller shaft.

EFFECT: high bearing capacity of propeller shaft bearings of ship shafting, low specific pressures on the segments of the hydrodynamic plain bearing in operating mode while reducing friction losses in it.
