FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering, in particular, to the issues of reducing the vibration during machining on machine tools. Adjustable vibration damper comprises a hollow cylindrical body, wherein a cylindrical load is placed in said body, configured to move axially. The load is made in the form of a permanent magnet. The hollow cylindrical body is secured on the vibrating surface parallel to the vibration direction. Cavity areas of the body on both sides of the load are filled with a viscous liquid and are interconnected via a controlled throttle with variable resistance. Permanent magnets are installed at the ends of the cavity, wherein each magnet is facing the load magnet with the like pole. The vibration damper is equipped with a "code–voltage" converter with the output linked with the control input of the throttle.
EFFECT: higher reliability of vibration damping.
