FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in processing solids of revolution on lathes. The through cutter consists of a head with a cutting element fixed on it and a holder connected to it with an adjustable cylindrical vibration damper built into it. The axis of the vibration damper is located along the holder parallel to the main plane of the cutter. The through cutter comprises two additional adjustable vibration dampers of a cylindrical shape, fixed on the surface of the holder. Axes of adjustable additional vibration dampers are perpendicular to each other. The axis of one of the additional vibration dampers is located parallel to the main plane of the cutter.
EFFECT: reduced vibration during turning in the direction of the tangent to the surface of the workpiece, in the radial direction and in the direction of the longitudinal feed, reduced roughness of the machined surface and increased wear resistance of the tool.
