SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology and relates to a method for rapidly determining the sensitivity of gram-negative rod-shaped bacteria to bacteriophages using a device that provides the cultivation of bacteria together with bacteriophages in wells with a dense nutrient medium. An express method for determining the sensitivity of gram-negative bacteria to the corresponding bacteriophages provides for the calculation of the coefficient according to the formula

where K is the number of microcolonies in the field of view of the control sample, B is the number of microcolonies in the field of view of the sample with bacteriophage, and the degree of sensitivity of the bacterium to the bacteriophage is judged by the value of the coefficient, and if the value of the coefficient k is greater than or equal to 10, the microorganism under study is considered sensitive to bacteriophage, if the value of k lies in the range from 2 to 10, the studied microorganism is considered weakly sensitive to the bacteriophage, if the value of k is less than 2, the studied microorganism is considered insensitive to the bacteriophage.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to speed up the determination of the sensitivity of gram-negative rod-shaped bacteria to bacteriophages and, after 2.5-3 hours, to judge the relationship of the bacterial strain to bacteriophages.
