SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the grinding of material and can be used in various industries. A method is proposed for crushing lumpy materials in a jaw crusher containing a body and a movable jaw pivotally mounted on the base of the body and driven by a crank mechanism. Crushing is carried out by shifting the destructible piece of material by the upper edge of the movable cheek in the zone of its exit from the unloading chute installed in the upper part of the housing. Wherein the width of the upper edge of the movable cheek covers the size of the outlet opening of the unloading chute, and the axis of the chute coincides with the vertical axis of the supporting hinge of the movable cheek.

EFFECT: invention allows to reduce energy consumption for crushing lumpy materials.
