FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, namely to pre-filled syringes. The inventive system (10) contains a needle and a pre-filled syringe and provides ultra-low waste and automatic needle stick protection. The syringe assembly (12) is prefilled with material (15). The needle head assembly (14) is connected to the syringe assembly (12). The spacer sleeve (54) is located between the needle head assembly (14) and the syringe assembly (12). The spacer sleeve (54) has a central hole (56). The needle head assembly (14) supports the needle (16) with the needle base (20). When assembled, the base (20) of the needle passes into the central hole (56) of the spacer sleeve (54). The needle head assembly (14) also includes a guard (22) that can selectively cover the needle (16). During injection, pressure and/or contact with the head (52) of the piston causes the spacer (54) to abut against the guard (22) and move it. The guard (22) moves to cover the needle (16) during the injection procedure, making the needle (16) safe.
EFFECT: pre-filled syringes creation.
