FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the production of monopotassium phosphate used as fertilizers, food additives, as well as in medicine and microbiology. A method for the production of monopotassium phosphate is proposed, including conversion of monoammonium phosphate with dipotassium phosphate, at an elevated temperature, with subsequent crystallization of a product, in which potassium carbonate and water are mixed to obtain 40% solution with a density of 1.38-1.42 g/cm3, monoammonium phosphate is added to reach pH in the range from 8.5 to 10.0, the resulting solution is heated to 100°C, and a dipotassium phosphate solution is obtained, monoammonium phosphate is added to reach pH in the range from 6.4 to 7.2, and the temperature is decreased to 55-65°C, monopotassium phosphate is crystallized from the resulting solution.
EFFECT: proposed method allows for provision of an increase in the yield of potassium phosphates in a target product – monopotassium phosphate to 97-98%.
