SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of veterinary medicine and relates to non-drug prevention of diseases with the syndrome of self-gnawing wool and metabolic disorders in chinchillas. To do this, chinchillas are fed daily course feed mineral additives - FVA "BSh-VIT" composition, wt.%: Al₂O₃ - 20-30; SiO₂ - 20-25; Fe₂O₃ - 10-15; CaO - 8-12; Na₂O - 12-15; SO₃ - 3-5; K₂O - 0.3-0.5; KJ - 0.2 in a mixture with dry powder from sea buckthorn berries in equal volume fractions in the form of a phytomineral feed additive - PMFA. The dose of FVA "BSh-VIT" is 0.2 g per 1 kg of live weight of chinchillas once a day, and sea buckthorn powder is 0.1 g per 1 kg of live weight, while the duration of the course is 30 days.

EFFECT: invention provides treatment and prevention of fur self-nibbling syndrome in chinchillas without creating stressful situations for animals.
