SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of welding and can be used for welding, surfacing or cutting using a robotic arm. The method includes execution by the manipulator of a given workpiece processing program, which is loaded into the manipulator control controller in the form of electric arc parameters and a description of the manipulator movement trajectory. During processing, by receiving acoustic vibrations generated by an electric arc, the sensors of the first channel located on the handle of the manipulator near the contact tip regulate the length of the arc, by receiving vibrations from the sensors of the second channel, also located on the handle of the manipulator, the space surrounding the handle of the manipulator is analyzed, and determining the distance to the detected obstacles, and by receiving vibrations by sensors of the third channel located at stationary positions in the working area of the manipulator, the trajectory of the manipulator is controlled with the detection of deviations from the specified path.

EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to expand the technological capabilities of the method and improve the quality of the corresponding processing of the workpiece.
