METHOD FOR DIRECTION FINDING OF A RADIANT OBJECT IN PHASE MULTI-SCAL GONIDOMETER SYSTEMS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G01S3/46

Abstract RU 2786495 C1

FIELD: radar and radio navigation systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to direction finders of the direction of arrival of electromagnetic, sound and other vibrations using antenna diversity and the phase measurement method and is intended for primary use in radar and radio navigation systems that determine the movement parameters of aircraft and other objects. To achieve the effect, three or more receiving antennas are placed along two mutually perpendicular axes, forming two or more measuring bases corresponding to the scales of the initially specified and intermediate direction finding accuracy. The emitted signal containing two or more scale frequencies is subjected to processing upon reception, which consists in measuring the phase differences over all scale frequencies, converting the phase differences into distance differences from the object to pairs of receiving antennas, disclosing the ambiguity in determining the distance differences using scales formed by scales. frequencies, and converting the distance differences for the given and intermediate bases of each of the two axes into estimates of the direction cosines of the signal arrival angle. The resulting estimates of the direction cosines are determined by weighted summation of estimates for scales of given and intermediate accuracy with weights equal to the ratio of the square of the value of the corresponding base to the sum of the squares of the values of all bases placed along the axis. The estimates obtained are superior in accuracy to individual initial estimates, including the estimate of the given accuracy.

EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of the direction finding of the radiating object. In the claimed method, two types of scale scales are used together - a scale base scale and a scale frequency scale.
