SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of obtaining sorbents applicable for use at environmental objects, and can be used to purify contaminated soils, natural reservoirs and wastewater. A method for obtaining a complex sorbent is presented, including the preparation of an aqueous solution of humic acids, grinding and subsequent thermomechanical processing of vegetable raw materials in an activator mill at a temperature of 100-200°C, processing of prepared vegetable raw materials with a solution of humic acids obtained and drying it, characterized in that humic acids are mixed with sodium percarbonate at an amount of sodium percarbonate 5-10 wt.% mechanical processing of the mixture is carried out in activator mills, to ensure the acceleration of grinding media, 100-400 m/s2, and the time of keeping in the processing zone is 2-10 minutes, an aqueous solution of treated humic acids with a concentration of 100-500 mg/l is prepared, the treatment of prepared vegetable raw materials with the resulting solution of humic acids is carried out with a hydromodulus of 1:10-1:20 for 2 hours.

EFFECT: invention provides for the creation of a high-capacity complex sorbent capable of binding heavy metal ions into insoluble complexes with high stability constants, as well as sorbing organic pollutants, for example dyes, petroleum products, suitable for use at environmental objects and having the necessary operational characteristics.
