FIELD: medicine; otorhinolaryngology; maxillofacial surgery.
SUBSTANCE: X-ray examination of the maxillary sinus (hereinafter – MS) is conducted. After detection of shading in MS during X-ray examination, intracavity pressure in MS is changed towards its decrease by removal of MS content and towards its increase by introduction of a physiological solution into MS. Chronic odontogenic maxillary sinusitis is diagnosed, when a pain syndrome occurs in the area of the “casual” tooth or teeth of the upper jaw after introduction of 5 ml of the physiological solution and/or removal of at least 1 ml of pathological MS content. Increase and decrease in intracavity pressure in MS can be combined with its therapeutic-diagnostic puncture.
EFFECT: method allows for simple and reliable diagnostics of chronic odontogenic maxillary sinusitis.
