FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology, in particular to a method for the preparation of biological materials and the study of microanatomy and morphology of ixodid ticks, using histological research methods, without violating the anatomical integrity. The invention is a method for preparing a material, which includes: immersing it in a 5% formalin solution, drying it by blotting with a paper towel, fixing it in homogenized paraffin melted at 57°C in a thermostat. Opening the chitinous cover from the dorsal part of the tick with a disposable household blade, conducting in isopropyl alcohol, filling with xylene-paraffin at a 50/50 dilution, cutting histological sections 5-7 μm thick with further staining with hematoxylin and eosin.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to improve the accuracy of studies of morphology and microanatomy of ixodid ticks.
