FIELD: biotechnology and veterinary virology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology, veterinary virology and can be used to detect bovine herpes virus type 6. The method involves PCR with real-time detection of amplification products using a set of oligonucleotides complementary to the BoHV-6 DNA polymerase (ORF9) gene region, including: forward primer BHV6-pol-F (5'- ACAGACGGGCAGCAGATAAG -3'), reverse primer BHV6-pol-R (5'- ATGGTTCGCCCCTGTAGAGT -3') and fluorescently labeled probe BHV6-pol-Z (5'- (R6G)CACGGACGGATACCAGGGCGCTACAG(BHQ-1) -3').
EFFECT: method has a high specificity and can be used for testing serum and cryopreserved bovine sperm.
