SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. After making surgical incisions and introducing an anesthetic into the anterior chamber, either trypan blue dye 0.18% or sterile air is injected into the anterior chamber. Then, through one of the surgical incisions, a syringe cannula with viscoelastic is inserted into the anterior chamber, it is carried out parallel to the plane of the iris, not reaching the angle of the anterior chamber by 1-2 mm, and the viscoelastic is gradually injected until the colored intraocular fluid or air is completely out of anterior chamber through the operating incision.

EFFECT: method allows opening the anterior lens capsule under control, protecting the cornea, structures of the anterior chamber angle and the iris, deepening the anterior chamber, thereby reducing the invasiveness of the operation and saving the lens capsule for subsequent intraocular lens implantation.
