METHOD OF REMOVING ELASTIC INTRAOCULAR LENS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61F9/07 A61F9/08 A61F2/16

Abstract RU 2809088 C1

FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: elastic intraocular lens (IOL) is removed, a 1.0 mm wide corneal incision is made, through which viscoelastic is introduced into the anterior chamber, then under the IOL, after which a vacuum ring is installed on the cornea. The interface of the corresponding femtosecond laser is installed, the femtosecond laser is attached to the eye, the IOL is separated by the femtosecond laser, and a tunnel incision is formed. The optical part of the IOL is incised into 4–8 sectoral fragments in the lens nucleus fragmentation mode with a pulse energy of 1 to 4 μJ, with a distance between laser spots of 4–5 μm and a distance between layers of laser spots of 7–10 μm, a tunnel incision is formed with a width of 1.5–2.4 mm. Then, along the incised areas of the fragments, the final division of the IOL into fragments is performed with a chopper, after which the fragments of the optical part of the IOL, together with the haptic elements, are alternately removed from the eye cavity through a tunnel incision.

EFFECT: method allows to reduce the risk of damage to intraocular structures, the degree of postoperative inflammatory reaction, the probability of a toxic reaction to intraocular structures, and also creates the opportunity to remove the IOL through a minimal corneal incision, provide the possibility of re-implantation of an elastic IOL through a small incision, and reduce the degree of induced postoperative astigmatism.
