METHOD FOR CONSTRUCTING AN INCLINED RAISE FOR OPENING LAVA TUBES ON THE MOON AND MARS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC E21C51/00 E21D9/02 B64G99/00

Abstract RU 2787484 C1

FIELD: mining industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the mining industry and can be used to create a long-term base and mine on the Moon and Mars. A method for constructing an inclined tunnel for opening lava tubes on the Moon and Mars is claimed, including preliminary presplitting along the contour of the raise for its entire length and subsequent crushing of a rock block separated from the array by an explosive method. In this case, contour blast wells for presplitting are drilled from the daytime surface in such a way that their axes intersect at one point from the outside of the lava tube with a straight line lying in the cross-sectional plane of the lava tube and intersecting the surface of a geometric figure covering the contour of the entrance to the raise, while the same straight line also intersects at an acute angle a straight line, formed at the intersection of the cross-sectional planes of the lava tube and the daytime surface. The contour of the soil of the raise constructed is formed as a reverse arch. Explosive charges laid in wells are detonated simultaneously, forming a gap along the contour of the raise. And a block of rock separated from the array in the contours of the raise is crushed by an explosion of charges laid in wells drilled from the daytime surface along the axis of the raise being constructed. Moreover, the detonation of these charges is carried out after the formation of a contour gap, during the movement of the separated block of rock towards the cavity of the lava tube.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of carrying out an inclined raise for opening lava tubes on the Moon and Mars without the need to transport the broken rock to the daytime surface.
