FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for extracting copper (II) from an aqueous solution and can be used in the field of extracting substances by ion exchange materials in non-ferrous and ferrous metallurgy, in the treatment of industrial and household waste water, in agriculture and in medicine. Method for extracting copper (II) ions from an aqueous solution includes the stage of sorption of copper (II) by bringing the initial solution in contact with amaranth seeds. Amaranth seeds pretreated with an alkaline solution are used herein as a sorbent. Sorption is performed at a pH of 4 and a solution temperature of 25°C.
EFFECT: possibility of effectively extracting copper (II) from industrial and household waste water.
