FIELD: catalysis technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of catalysis and the preparation of electrocatalysts and can be used as part of the catalytic layer of the membrane-electrode unit (MEU) for a fuel cell with a solid polymer electrolyte (FC with SPE). A method for manufacturing an electrocatalyst for a solid polymer fuel cell with a stabilized water balance is proposed, which consists in the fact that SiO2 particles are deposited on the initial carbon carrier by precipitation in the volume of ethylene glycol, for which a suspension is prepared consisting of a carrier, a mixture of solvents ethylene glycol - water and isopropyl alcohol, the suspension is stirred using ultrasonic treatment, a colloidal solution of silica particles is added to the resulting suspension, and precipitation is carried out, an electrocatalyst based on a modified carrier is synthesized, for which an aqueous solution of hexachloroplatinic acid is added and it is homogenized, the resulting solution is poured dropwise into a container with a modified carrier, the resulting mixture heated to 75°C and kept, the temperature is quickly raised to 180°C and platinum is reduced, the mixture is cooled and the precipitate is washed off, while 2 M HCl is added to the cooled suspension before washing to reduce pH of the solution is lowered to 6, the precipitate is boiled three times in distilled water, followed by decantation, the resulting solid precipitate is thoroughly washed and dried for 8 hours in a vacuum cabinet at a temperature of 70°C.
EFFECT: obtaining an electrocatalyst for a fuel cell with a solid polymer electrolyte, which has a high specific surface area, an electrochemical active surface, and high stability.
