SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of handling equipment, in particular to devices for capturing and stacking long products. The pipe gripping device comprises a base (1), a pneumatic cylinder (hydraulic cylinder) (2) with a rod (3), a gear wheel (4) for connection with the drive mechanism (5), a toothed rack (6) rigidly fastened to the base (1) and connected through a hitch with a gear wheel (5). Attached to the base (1) is a straight plate (7), serving as the lower gripping element, and two brackets (8, 9). A bracket (10) is pivotally attached to the bracket (8), to which a rounded plate (11) is rigidly attached, serving as the upper gripping element. Also, with the bracket (10) the rod (3) of the pneumatic cylinder (hydraulic cylinder) (2) is hinged. The bracket (9) is hinged to the pneumatic cylinder (hydraulic cylinder) (2).

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of the process of lifting, transporting and laying pipes is achieved.
