FIELD: brushless synchronous generators.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to brushless synchronous generators, mainly intended for use in aircraft. The electric current generator contains the main generating machine, the exciter and the exciter control unit. The armature of the main machine and the exciter inductor are fixed on the generator body, and the main machine inductor and the exciter armature are fixed on the generator shaft. The exciter control unit is able to regulate the voltage at the ends of the exciter coil so that when the generator output current is less than the threshold current, the voltage at the ends of the exciter coil is adjusted so that the generator output voltage tends to a predetermined voltage. When the generator output current equals or exceeds the threshold current, the voltage at the ends of the exciter coil winding is adjusted so that the generator output current tends to the threshold current.
EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of maintaining the generator's own performance under conditions of a short circuit in the on-board network and providing voltage supply to restore the on-board network.
