FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy; it can be used in the production of primary and secondary aluminum. A method for the production of secondary aluminum includes provision of aluminum scrap to be thermally processed and carbon scrap from an electrolysis cell for the production of primary aluminum, introduction of aluminum scrap into a furnace, processing of carbon scrap to obtain fuel of scrap having an average particle size of 10-300 mcm, thermal processing, and melting of aluminum scrap, using energy obtained by means of transportation of the specified fuel of scrap to flame of a burner and combustion of fuel of scrap for the production of secondary aluminum.
EFFECT: invention allows for disposal of degraded elements of electrolyzers containing carbon, as well as elimination of the use of methods for generation of water steam energy or electrical energy.
